The University of Edinburgh (Edin.) is located in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. It is a world-renowned top public research university founded in 1583, Scotland's highest institution, and one of the seven classical universities. Aida has a very important leadership position in the European Enlightenment era, making Edinburgh one of the centers of Enlightenment movement at that time, enjoying the reputation of "Northern Athens".
