University of St Andrews, founded in 1413, is a public university located in Scotland, England. The school was formally established after Pope Benedict XIII issued a papal edict to the Austin priests. It is the oldest university in Scotland and the oldest university in the English-speaking world after Oxford and Cambridge.


The University of St. Andrews ranks among the top five in Europe in the 2019 Times University Teaching Quality Rankings. Its small number of students allows the school to maintain a golden teacher-student ratio. Although St. Ann mainly focuses on undergraduate education, its 600-year-old founding three major disciplines: Philosophy (No. 6 in the world), Classics (No. 11 in the world) and Theology (No. 17 in the world) have retained their transcendent status in the world. The school’s Arché logic, language, metaphysics and epistemological philosophy research center and the Ethics, Philosophy and Public Relations Research Center (CEPPA) specialize in conquering the most cutting-edge philosophical issues in the world, attracting scholars from all over the world to come and communicate throughout the year.


St. Ann has a long history and many well-known alumni. Among them are 6 Nobel Prize winners, founding fathers of the United States, and signatories of the Declaration of Independence James Wilson, John Witherspoon, King James II of England, and French politicians. Mara, Edward Jenner, father of immunology, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and his wife Kate, etc.


Because of its special role at the beginning of the founding of the United States, the school has maintained close ties with American politics, the University of Pennsylvania and other American universities for hundreds of years.


St. Ann ranked third in the UK in the 2019 UK University Rankings published by The Times and the 2020 “Complete University Guide” rankings; in the 2020 UK University Rankings published by The Guardian, it surpassed the University of Oxford and ranked first. Second in the UK; In the ranking published by The Times in 2021, St. Ann became the first British university to break the monopoly of Oxford and Cambridge, ranking first in the UK.


As an educational institution that has experienced six centuries of ups and downs, the University of St. Andrews enjoys a high reputation all over the world.
