Osaka University (おおさかだいがく) is a comprehensive research university headquartered in Suita City, Osaka Prefecture, Japan, Japan’s largest national university, and one of the highest universities in the Kinki region. It was selected as a super international university program established by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Class A top schools and designated national universities, as well as academic organizations such as the Pacific Rim University Alliance, East Asian Research University Association, Japan-UK RENKEI, Academic Research Conference, Eight Universities Engineering Faculty Association, Excellent Graduate School Program, Leading Graduate School Program and other academic organizations And the members of the project occupy an important academic position in the world. 


Osaka University originated from the Orchid School "Sujiju" established by Ogata Koan in 1838. In 1931, the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Science of the former Osaka Medical University formed Osaka Imperial University, becoming the sixth former Imperial University in Japan, and later absorbed the Faculty of Engineering from the former Osaka Institute of Technology. After the Second World War, it was officially renamed Osaka University, and it successively integrated Osaka High School, Naniwa High School, and Osaka College of Pharmacy to form a large-scale comprehensive university. In 2007, Osaka University of Foreign Studies was merged into the Faculty of Foreign Languages of Osaka University.
