Acute gastritis [symptoms]:

Appetite loss or abolishment in sick dogs. Sometimes there is a lick-like addiction, eating unpalatable, bitter, disgusting items, and a strong appetite. Bad breath and yawning. Sparse bowel sounds and sometimes constipation. Abdominal pain is obvious, the two forelimbs are stretched forward, and the body lies in a cold and dark place. Palpate the stomach, sensitive and painful. Vomiting is one of the main symptoms. It starts to vomit mucus and gastric juice, sometimes mixed with blood, bile, and mucosal debris. Due to vomiting, symptoms of dehydration occur, sunken eye sockets, and reduced skin elasticity.  Treatment:

Bait therapy: You should stop eating for 24 hours and limit drinking. After 24 hours, give porridge and so on. Pay attention to eating smaller meals.   Elimination of stomach contents: Vomiting at the beginning of the disease does not necessarily have to be stopped. Stopping vomiting is harmful. Because of stomach fullness or ingestion of irritating substances, vomiting can relieve the burden on the stomach and discharge harmful contents. At the beginning of the disease, 3-5ml of apomorphine hydrochloride can be injected subcutaneously to induce vomiting to discharge harmful substances in the stomach. If necessary, give dogs 20-50ml of paraffin oil or enema, which can quickly clear the stomach contents.

Sedative vomiting: rest quietly, intramuscular injection of chlorpromazine 1ml/kg body weight, and oral metoclopramide 1-2 tablets, 2 times a day. You can drink coffee from time to time, you can also use chamomile tea as a beverage, which has antiemetic effect. Severe vomiting can cause water and electrolyte imbalance. You can give compound sodium chloride solution or 5% 25 glucose solution intravenously.

To invigorate the stomach and relieve pain: In order to stimulate the secretion of gastric juice and relieve the lack of appetite, give dilute hydrochloric acid to dogs 3 times a day, 0.2-1.0ml each time, dilute with water before taking it. Pepsin 0.1-0.5g, add dilute hydrochloric acid, etc., dissolve in water, and take it before feeding. Put 10-20 drops of bitter tincture or gentian tincture in water and take it before feeding. Give yeast flakes, lactase production, etc. to promote appetite increase.

Chronic gastritis [symptoms]:

Appetite changes in sick dogs, weight loss, anemia, reduced abdominal circumference, bad breath, vomiting, and sometimes abdominal pain.

treatment:

Pay attention to the treatment of primary diseases, such as chronic heart failure, dental disease, nephritis, etc.

Give easy-to-digest food, feed with broth, oatmeal paste, and give small amounts of meat or liver paste several times.

Invigorate the stomach, promote digestion and absorption: compound gentian tincture (bitter taste tincture) 1-4ml/time, 2-3 times a day, dilute hydrochloric acid 1-2ml/time, dilute 15 times with water before use, and take dry yeast 8-12g/ Times, 2-3 times a day, lactase production 0.3-0.5g/time.

Foreign body in the stomach [symptoms]:

Depending on the case, the symptoms are sometimes acute, sometimes similar to chronic gastric catarrh. However, the foreign body caused obstruction of the pylorus, manifested stubborn vomiting, total refusal to eat, high thirst, uneasy and painful cry of getting up and down, and depressed spirit. Palpation of the stomach is painful, and sometimes a foreign body in the stomach can be palpated under the ribs.

Treatment:

If the foreign body in the dog's stomach is a blunt round foreign body, an emetic can be used to inject 3mg of apomorphine subcutaneously, and the hind legs of the sick dog are raised high, and the foreign body is expelled due to the force of vomiting. A relatively mild and safe method is to flush the enema to expel the contents of the stomach. When the above conservative methods are ineffective, perform laparotomy and gastrotomy to remove the foreign body.

Stomach dilation-torsion symptoms:

The dog has abdominal pain suddenly, gets up and sleeps restlessly, and acts cautiously. The abdomen swells, percussion of metallic sounds. The abdomen palpation can feel the tight globular pouch without vomiting. The esophageal hose is stopped at the upper part of the stomach and cannot be inserted. Sometimes it is inserted into the stomach and odorous or bloody fluid escapes. The pulse increases rapidly, breathing is difficult, and most of them die within 24-48 hours.

Treatment: Surgery.

Stomach bleeding [symptoms]:

The important symptom is vomiting blood, bright red or dark brown blood. If the blood stays in the stomach for a long time, the vomited blood is stained brown or cocoa-colored blood and blood clots similar to coffee grounds, the vomit has a sour smell, and the stool is foul-smelling coal tar, which is caused by stomach bleeding. The result of the breakdown of blood in the intestines. In severe cases, internal hemorrhage symptoms such as pale mucous membranes, coldness in limbs, rapid heartbeat, loss of appetite, and shortness of breath.

Treatment:

Sick dogs need to rest quietly. Place an ice pack on the stomach. Dogs with severe anemia should receive blood transfusion immediately, usually with 5-7ml%2Fkg body weight, instilled slowly. Correct water, electrolyte and acid-base balance disorders, supplement glucose solution and physiological saline solution, and give vitamin K 10.5-2mg/kg body weight subcutaneous injection, and 10% glucose solution 5-10ml/kg body weight intravenously.  Feed easy-to-digest foods, eat small and frequent meals, give pepsin, etc.

Pyloric stenosis [symptoms]:

The symptoms of congenital pyloric stenosis are vomiting, constipation, strong gastric motility, and malnutrition after the pylorus is blocked.

Vomiting usually occurs 2-5 weeks after birth. After each breastfeeding, she showed jet-like vomiting. The jet is fast and can shoot several feet. Judging from the quantity and quality of the vomit, it can be seen that the stomach and intestines are not unblocked. There was no nausea before vomiting, and after each vomiting, breastfeeding was necessary. There is no bile in the vomit, which is sufficient to distinguish it from duodenal atresia. When vomiting, gastric juice is lost, which affects electrolyte balance, and is accompanied by dehydration and metabolic alkalosis.

Sick dogs have no bowel movements within a few days, that is, they may occur, and the amount is very small and hard. Stomach waves can be seen after breastfeeding. The abdomen can be palpated with lumps, especially before breastfeeding or after vomiting, when the stomach is empty, the lumps are most easily palpable.

Treatment:

Surgery is the only effective method.
